Logging the class's reading time
One quick form gets your whole classroom logged in five seconds.
Logging reading time for your class is a five-second job. The form already has every student in your classroom checked off — just uncheck anyone who was absent, type how long you read, and you're done.
Where it is
From your classroom dashboard, click Log minutes. (You'll only see this button while the campaign is running.)
What to fill in
Type how long the class read together (anything from 1 to 1,440 minutes — one full day). Add a note if you'd like, with what you read or what page you stopped on; parents see this on their child's reading list, so they know what the class is up to. Uncheck anyone who was away. Click the button — it'll show the number of students you're logging for, so you can double-check.
Log right after reading time
It's much easier to remember who was there if you log right at the end of the period. Bookmark the page on your phone — it'll be one tap.
What happens after you click
Each student's minutes go up, your classroom totals update everywhere, and the log shows up in your recent activity with an Undo button in case you need to fix it. If a student crossed the line for a prize, they'll show up on your prize tracker too.
A few common questions
Logged the wrong number? Undo it from your activity feed and try again — see Undoing a reading log.
One student needs different minutes than the rest? Open that student's page and log for them on their own — see Logging for one student.
Logging for yesterday? Logs are always stamped with the current time. If the day matters (logging Friday's read on Monday), just say so in the note.
Don't see the button? The campaign hasn't started yet, or has already wrapped up. You can only log reading minutes while it's running.
