The four stages of a campaign
What changes at each stage, and what your school can and can't do in each.
Your campaign moves through four stages on its own — based on the dates you set, no buttons to push. Knowing where you are tells you what you can change and what's frozen.
The four stages
Setting up. Hasn't started yet.
Reading and donations are open.
Reading's done; donations still welcome. Seven days.
Final results, frozen for keeps.
Draft
Where you'll do all your setup. Pick dates, add classrooms and students, invite teachers, set up rewards. Donations actually open up two weeks before your start date — that gives families time to share with grandparents — but students can't log reading minutes yet.
Active
The read-a-thon is on. Students log minutes, donations come in, rewards unlock. You can still adjust the roster, the goals, and the rewards as you go. The only things locked at this point are the start and end dates.
Grace
Reading wraps up but donations keep rolling in for another week — a chance for last-minute family chip-ins. We'll email everyone the day reading closes so they know. The roster's frozen at this point, but you can still tweak rewards if you'd like to add a "we got close!" tier.
Locked
Final results, set in stone. You can look at everything but can't change anything. We'll send out a "final results" email so the whole school can celebrate.
Late refunds don't change the rankings
If a donation gets refunded after locking, we still process it — but the leaderboard stays as it was. Nobody loses a ranking they earned.
Late activations still work
A parent who finds the take-home sheet weeks later can still activate their child. They won't be able to add minutes or donations, but they'll see how everything turned out.
A few things to know
Two campaigns can't run at the same time — once one ends and its grace period wraps, you can start another. The grace period is always seven days. And once a campaign is active, the start and end dates can't be changed (if you absolutely need to, email hello@pagepledge.com and we'll help).
